Statue of Liberty tours are a great way to appreciate the beautiful landmark and learn about the history behind it. Recently, I had the pleasure to take a ‘Take Walks’ tour of the Statue of Liberty and it exceeded my expectations. Here’s a review of my experience.

Unique Take Walks Tour

Take Walks Tours offers private and small group tours around the most iconic landmarks of New York City. My tour was ‘Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Tour’, beginning at Battery Park.

The tour guide was knowledgeable, passionate and spoke English fluently. In addition to providing information about the Statue of Liberty, she also shared stories and anecdotes that made the experience a lot more special.

Explore the Statue of Liberty

The tour was a great way to explore the beautiful Statue of Liberty and appreciate the many details that were part of the construction of the statue. I also learnt a lot about the island of Ellis Island and the importance of this attraction for many people, who were coming to America for the first time.

What made this experience even more exciting was the access to places that are usually closed to the general public, such as the Statue’s arm and crown. We were even invited to climb the stairs inside the Statue and admire the breathtaking views from the top.

Highlight of the Experience

The highlight of the tour was visiting the Ellis Island Immigration Museum. Here we had the chance to learn more about the struggles and sacrifises of immigrants, who wanted a better life in America.

The tour concluded with a lovely and relaxing ferry ride, were we were able to take in the sights of Manhattan from afar.
